Gardaí Appeal After Driver Flees Scene Of Crash In Co Louth

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a driver fled the scene of a collision involving an ambulance in Louth.

The incident, between a car and an ambulance, happened at the junction of the Bridge of Peace and the Rathmullen Road at around 3.20pm on Wednesday, 06 July.

Two paramedics and a patient were in the ambulance, however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

It is understood the driver fled the scene on foot.

Renewed Appeal Over Murder Of Taxi Driver
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information on the murder of taxi driver Martin Mulligan. Mr Mulligan (53) was stabbed to death on 28 September following an altercation in Dundalk in Co Louth. It is believed the altercation began over an unpaid taxi fare.

Woman's Body Found In County Laoise
Gardai are continuing with their investigations after the discovery of a woman's body in County Laoise. The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found at a flat in Mountrath. The alarm was raised shortly after 8pm on Friday. A man in his 30s has been arrested in relation to the incident and is detained at Portlaoise Garda Station.

Body Exhumed In Search For Missing Man
Gardaí investigating the disappearance of a man in 1987 have exhumed a body after a tip off. Brian McGrath, aged then 43, was last seen in 1987. Early on Monday morning Gardai exhumed remains at Whitehall Cemetery, Coole, Co Westmeath to be taken to Dublin City Morgue for additional post mortem examination and further tests.

Man's Body Found In Westmeath
The body of a man, believed to be in his 20s, has been found in a camper van in Collinstown, County Westmeath. The man’s body was discovered in the vehicle at around 4.00am on Thursday morning at Lough Lene in the village. A man in his late 20s is in custody at Mullingar Garda Station and is being questioned in connection with the incident.

Baby's Rush Hour Arrival Halts Traffic
A baby was in a big hurry to see the light of day earlier this week. An off-duty ambulance driver helped to deliver an infant boy near Blanchardstown during the height of the rush hour in Dublin on Wednesday evening. The mother, who is from Clonsilla, was being driven to Holles Street Hospital when she went into labour.
