Leo Varadkar Admits He Would 'Love To Lead' Fine Gael
The Minister for Social Protection has said he would 'love to lead' Fine Gael whenever a vacancy arises.
However, Leo Varadkar claims their is no vacancy at the moment.
Speaking to KFM he said: "Of course I'd love to lead my party – I've been dedicated to it since I was 17 or 18 years old. But that's something you have to consider at the appropriate time, when a vacancy arises."

Tributes Paid To Former Fine Gael Deputy Leader Peter Barry
Former Fine Gael deputy leader Peter Barry has died at the age of 88. Mr Barry, a businessman from Cork and the man behind the Barry's Tea brand, served as minister for foreign affairs and played a key role in the Anglo-Irish Agreement. The Taoiseach Enda Kenny led tributes to Mr Barry.

Eight Fine Gael TDs Say Incremental Pay Increases Should Be Examined
Incremental pay increases and allowances for higher-paid public service workers should be examined for possible savings, according to eight Fine Gael TDs. In an article in the Irish Examiner, the group said these two areas are not part of the Croke Park Agreement and that pay increases must be put back on the table to correct the budget deficit.

Leo Varadkar Named New Leader Of Fine Gael
Leo Varadkar has been announced as the new leader of Fine Gael. He secured 60% of the vote to Simon Coveney's 40% in the leadership contest. Mr Varadkar also praised Mr Coveney for his campaign. The Social Protection Minister also refused to rule out a future coalition with Fianna Fail.

Fianna Fáil Called To Support Scrapping Of Bin Charges
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has called on Fianna Fáil to "join the effort to scrap punitive bin charge hikes." Mr Adams made the call ahead of a Dáil debate on the issue. "Many people are only now adjusting to the reality that Fine Gael are back in Government; despite the result of the general election," he said.
