Mota-Engil To Create 60 New Jobs
Portuguese construction group Mota-Engil is to create 60 new jobs through its Irish subsidiaries Glan Agua and MEIC over the next five years.
The organisation has established UK & Irish Headquarters in Loughrea to help expand its operations in the environmental engineering and construction sectors.
The project is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Minister of State for the Office of Public Works and Flood Relief, Sean Canney TD, officially opened the new offices today, 08 July, and said it will be a "significant boost to Loughrea and the wider region".
"It's very positive for a town the size of Loughrea to win an investment like this. It shows that companies can locate in regions once the necessary infrastructure and skilled workforce is available," he said.
Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O Connor TD added: "I welcome the announcement that Glan Agua is expanding in Ireland and bringing 60 quality technical jobs to Galway. I am delighted that this will benefit Loughrea and the surrounding areas."
