More Than 65,000 Litres Of Undeclared Alcohol Seized

Over 65,000 litres of beer and three articulated trucks have been seized by revenue officers at Dublin Port on Tuesday, 12 July.

Following routine profiling, officers uncovered the beer during the search of three German registered trucks as they disembarked a ferry from Zeebrugge on Saturday, 09 July.

Further enquiries confirmed the alcohol was undeclared.

The seized beer is valued at €193,150 and represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of €134,175.

Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
