Investigations Launched Into Workplace Death In Co Cork

Two independent investigations have been launched following the death of a 59-year-old man in a workplace accident.

The man died following an incident on a building site in Midleton, Co Cork, at approximately 12:49pm on Monday, 08 August, at St Coleman's Community College.

It is understood two other workers at the site were treated at Cork University Hospital for minor injuries and shock.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have launched separate investigations.

Investigations Launched Into Workplace Death In Cork
Investigations have been launched into the death of a 35-year-old man in a workplace accident in Co Cork. It is understood that an incident occurred at around 1.30am at Architectural & Metal Systems, an aluminium manufacturing plant, in Little Island. Garda and the Health and Safety Authority have launched separate investigations into the incident.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Fatal Shooting In Cork City
An investigation has been launched following a fatal shooting in Cork City on Tuesday, 26 April. Gardaí in Togher were called to a house on Plunkett Road, Ballyphehane, at about 4.30pm on Tuesday. A 41-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains have been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.
