Three Arrested In Connection With Burglary In Kildare Town
A teenager and two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a burglary in Kildare Town in the early hours of this morning, 09 August.
At approximately 3.30am three males gained entry to a convenience shop on the Dublin Road. They took a quantity of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene in a car.
Gardaí on active mobile patrol in North Kildare observed and followed the car after its description had been circulated. The car was stopped and searched on the Naas Road, Dublin, close to the Red Cow roundabout.
Three males were arrested and are currently detained at Naas Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
A quantity of cash and cigarettes has been recovered.

Investigation Launched Over Alleged False Imprisonment
Gardaí have launched an investigation over the alleged false imprisonment and assault of two women in County Kildare last week. The incident happened at Francis Lane, Newbridge, between 9pm on Thursday 14 May and 2pm Friday 15 May. The women, aged 19 and 21, received non life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 9.30pm last night, Gardaí observed a black Audi estate car with a partial registration number 151 G driving at speed through Monasterevin over the draw bridge, Main Street and on towards the Kildare Road.

Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Issued Across 11 Counties
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for rain across 11 counties. The warning, which came into effect at 7am this morning, is in place for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The warning will remain in place until 6am tomorrow, when it will be reviewed.

Three people required hospital treatment following a high-speed car chase in Longford on Saturday night. Gardai said a patrol car was carrying out a routine circuit of the town when it tried to stop a car. However, the car sped off at speed and gardai gave chase. The chase ended when the suspects car crashed at Goshen cross outside Longford.
