Around £210,000 Of Heroin Seized In Co Louth

Heroin worth an estimated street value of approximately £210,000 has been seized in County Louth.

The seizure was made following a cross-border operation on Sunday, 21 August.

Gardaí intercepted two UK registered cars on the M1 and discovered the drugs.

Two men and one woman have been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

They are due to appear at Drogheda District Court today, Monday, 22 August.

A man is in hospital after he was struck by a car that drove towards a crowd in a County Louth graveyard. Gardaí arrested a 20-year-old man at the scene in St Patrick's Cemetery in Dundalk following the incident during the annual blessing of the graves on Sunday 21 July.

Shotgun Aimed At Irish Water Employee
A gun has been seized from a man, 65, after he pointed it at an Irish Water employee in County Louth, according to gardai. The incident occurred at a property in Ardee after 9am on Tuesday. A spokesman said that the worker was looking for a stop-com for the mains of the house. A double-barrel shotgun is believed to have been aimed at the worker.

Gardaí Injured During Drugs Raid
A man has been arrested after three gardaí were injured during a drug search in County Louth on Friday. The incident occurred at a property in Termonfeckin after 9am. The officers are believed to have been attacked with a knife and a pitbull dog was set on them. A man in his 30s is being held at Drogheda Garda Station.

Herbal Cannabis Worth Estimated €90,000 Seized In Co Louth
Revenue officers have seized herbal cannabis worth an estimated €90,000 in Dundalk, Co Louth. The drugs were discovered concealed inside blankets which had arrived in Ireland in a package sent from Canada.

Appeal Issued For Missing Co Louth Man
Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing 23-year-old Kenneth Fagan, who has been missing in Co Louth since 6 August. Mr Fagan, commonly known as Ken, was last seen in Dundalk at about 13:30 on Wednesday 6 August. He was wearing a blue zip-up hooded top with white strings, dark denim jeans and navy runners.
