Five Injured In Serious Collision In Roscommon
Gardaí in Roscommon have appealed for witnesses to a serious two car road traffic collision in the early hours of Friday morning.
Two cars collided on the Brideswell to Athlone Road, approximately one mile outside Brideswell, at approximately 4am.
A 23-year-old male, the sole occupant of one car, was seriously injured in the collision and has been taken to Tullamore Hospital. There were two adults and two children, aged two and six, in the second car. All four were taken to Portiuncla Hospital, Ballinasloe for treatment. Their medical condition is unknown at this stage.
The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and the road will remain closed until lunchtime. Local diversions in place.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Roscommon Garda station on 090 6638300, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Four Men Dead In Separate Collisions
A total of four men have died in a spate of separate car collisions over the weekend. In the most recent incident, a motorcyclist collided with a pick-up truck towing a trailer, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s. The collision which occurred at Cloghnadromin, Ballysimon, CoLimerick at approx 1.30pm on Sunday.

Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

According to gardaí, a 55-year-old woman was hit by a bus while cycling at about 21:40 on Burlington Road on Monday night. She is currently being treated at St Vincent's Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.
