11-Year-Old Boy Killed In Car Collision
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after an 11-year-old boy died when he was struck by a car in Co Offaly.
It is understood the boy was cycling to school on the R446 old Dublin to Galway road when he was hit by a car at Marshbrook, near Moate, at around 9am this morning, 01 September.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road has been closed to allow for a forensic examination.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Tullamore Garda Station on 057 932 7600, the garda confidential line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Crash
Gardaí in Co Westmeath are appealing to witnesses of a fatal road accident on the Athlone bypass on Sunday afternoon. A five-month-old baby boy died after the car he was travelling in veered off the road onto the hard shoulder and collided with the crash barrier. A three-year-old girl was also injured in the collision.

Witnesses Sought To Fatal Motorcycle Collision
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a serious collision in Co Cork on Tuesday evening. At about 8pm, a man aged in his 40s, died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car at Lough Beg, Ringaskiddy. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been taken to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem.
