Witnesses Sought After Cars Rammed At Kiltake Service Station
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to an incident at Kiltake, Co Meath on Thursday, 15 September.
At approximately 11.30am yesterday, officers with Operation Thor were on patrol in the Kiltale area when they observed a "target vehicle", a silver VW Golf with four males in the forecourt of a service station.
As gardaí entered the forecourt, the suspect car reversed into a civilian car, injuring its female driver. The suspect car then rammed the Garda car before fleeing the scene.
Two of the four male suspects fled the scene on foot but were followed by both Gardaí. One suspect, aged 18, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and is being detained at Trim Garda Station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
The injured female and two Gardaí were taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown for treatment.
The silver Golf was found a short time later in a field approximately one mile from Mullagh Cross on the Summerhill to Dunboyne Road. Local Gardaí are being assisted by the Air Support Unit in a search of the area.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the silver VW Golf in and around the Kiltale area, or may have seen it being abandoned at Mullagh Cross, to contact them at Trim Garda Station on 046 9481540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
