Warning Issued Over Potentially Hazardous Material Stolen From Building Site

An investigation has been launched into the theft of potentially hazardous materials from a building site in Co Louth.

Gardaí are investigating the theft of 20 insulation bales – four sheets per bale – from a building site at Strand Road, Termonfeckin, some time between 24 – 27 October this year.

Garda have warned that if these items are set alight the smoke and fumes would be toxic and have the potential to cause harm to the health of anyone coming into contact without appropriate breathing apparatus.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Drogheda Garda Station on 041-9874200, The Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station and would like to make the local community aware of the possible dangers if this material is burned.

Garda Injured In Cork
A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night. The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged. He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm. The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

Three Arrested In Airport Drug Probe
Two South African women and a Portuguese male have been arrested after a drug haul worth half a million Euro was seized at Dublin Airport. The arrests came following a large scale operation by the Santry Drugs Unit and the Revenue's Customs Service.
