Elderly Driver Killed In Kilkenny Collision
A man in his mid 70's has died following a two-vehicle crash in Kilkenny.
The victim was driving one of the cars involved in the collision on the N24 Belline and Rogerstown, Piltown at around 7.30pm on Thursday, 01 December.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford. There were no other passengers in the car.
The second driver, a man in his early 30s, received minor injuries and was also alone in the vehicle.
The scene is preserved and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are carrying out their investigations. The N24 between Carrick-on-Suir and Mooncoin southbound is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information, particularly those who were travelling the N24 during the time of the crash, are asked to contact Gardaí at Thomastown Garda station on 056 - 7754150 The Garda confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda station.

Gardai Investigate Fatal Crash On N24
Two cars were involved in a head on collision on Monday night around 22:40 on the N24 near Bansha, Co. Tipperary. The drivers of both cars, a female in her 20s and a male also in his 20s, were both fatally injured in the accident. The passengers in the females car, two males in their late teens, were taken by ambulance to Clonmel Hospital.

A man has been killed in a two vehicle road crash that occurred between Parkanna Cross Rd and Davis Cross on the Blarney to Bweeng Road at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday. The man in his 20's was fatally injured when his car collided with a lorry. He was the sole occupant of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A motorcyclist has died in a three-vehicle collision in Co Donegal. At around 10.30pm on Thursday, the motorcyclist collided with two cars on the N13 at Lisfannon, Burt. The victim, said to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later removed to Letterkenny General Hospital.

A man has died following a crash in County Clare this morning. The 23-year-old was taken to Ennis General Hospital after the one-vehicle crash in Lahinch at 1.30am. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Two women and one man, all in their 20s, were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. They were passengers in the car.
