Man In Court Charged With Laois Filling Station Robbery
A 31-year-old man has appeared before court charged in connection with an armed robbery of a filling station in Co Laois.
Gardaí said a man wearing a balaclava entered the filling station on the Portlaoise Road in Mountrath at around 12.35am on Saturday, 19 August.
The suspect threatened a staff member with a firearm, which was discharged during the incident. The man eventually made off with an amount of cash. Both the firearm and cash were later recovered.
The suspect appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning, 24 August.
Investigations are continuing.

Another ATM Ripped From Wall By Robbers
Gardaí are searching for a gang following the 'excavation' and theft of an ATM in Co Wexford early this morning. The filling station facility was attacked with a mechanical digger which was used to remove the cash machine. It happened at the Mace filling station at Bellfield in Enniscorthy at around 5am.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
