Weather Warnings Issued For Wind And Rain
A number of weather warnings have been issued as Storm Brian is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange wind warning for counties Mayo, Galway, Clare, Kerry, Cork, Waterford and Wexford.
West to southwesterly winds, veering northwest, are expected to reach mean speeds of 65-80 km/h with gusts of 110-130 km/h.
Two Status Yellow warnings have been issued for wind and rain.
A wind warning has been issued for the whole of Ireland, while a rainfall warning has been issued for counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford.
Heavy rain with accumulations of 30 to 50mm are expected over the period.
The warnings were issued on Thursday night are are valid from 9am today, Friday 19 October, until 9pm on Saturday 21 October.

Wind Farm Academy To Boost Donegal
A National Wind Energy Academy is being established at Letterkenny Institute of Technology as part of a €500,000 initiative being backed by the Donegal County Development Board. The first phase will see the development of a wind turbine maintenance programme which will be delivered in conjunction with BZEE, a German centre for renewable energy.

Wind Warnings Issued For Coastal Counties
Ireland is bracing itself for another burst of stormy weather over the next 24 hours with strong gales forecast for coastal counties. Yellow weather warnings have been issued for counties Wicklow, Donegal, Galway and Mayo as south to south east winds veer towards the west on Thursday afternoon, 16 January.

Met Éireann has issued several weather warnings for strong winds across the country. A 'Status Orange' warning has been issued for counties Donegal, Galway and Mayo. These areas will experience strong and gusty south to southwest winds at times. Mean wind speeds will reach 55 to 75 km/hr with gusts of 85 to 100 km/hr.
