Major Search Underway For Armed Man In Dublin

A major search operation is on going in the Clondalkin and Tallaght area's following a number of armed incidents earlier today.

Gardaí are searching for a man they believe to be armed and have urged the public not to approach him if they see him.

It is understood that the man was last seen in the Clondalkin area at around 7am.

Garda have said that they believe the 37-year-old man left his home at about 6.20am following an argument. He is understood to have crashed his car at Russell Square, Tallaght, before hijacking another car and fleeing the scene in the direction of Whitestown Way.

From here, garda said that the man broke into a house on the Westgate estate where he attacked a man before stealing a third car.

He is know believed to be traveling in a black Renault Kadjar, registration 162-D-8767. The man is described as white, of medium build with short brown hair. He is believed to be wearing grey shorts, a green and black North Face jacket, and grey and navy runners.

Gardaí are asking the public to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01-6666000 the emergency number 999 or 112 if they have any information or see anything suspicious.
