Man Arrested And Charged Over Burglary In Ranelagh

A man in his 30s has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary at a property in Dublin.

Gardaí said a number of items were stolen during the robbery in Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6 on Wednesday, 01 November.

The Detective Unit in Donnybrook launched a surveillance operation at a location where the stolen property had been stored by the suspect. Gardaí then observed a man attempting to removing the stolen property on Thursday, 02 November.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Donnybrook Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

He appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am today, 03 November.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Couple Remanded Over Taxi Driver Murder
A man and woman, both in their 20s, are currently being questioned by gardaí, following the stabbing of an off-duty taxi driver in west Dublin. Mark Smyth, a 31-year-old taxi driver from the Hawthorns, Duleek, Co Meath was attacked in the Fortlawn estate on Tuesday night. He had been stabbed more than 20 times in the neck and chest.
