Garda Issue Fresh Appeal For Information On Murder Of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe

Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information over its investigation into the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe on the fifth anniversary of his death.

Detective Donohoe was fatally shot during an armed robbery on 25 January, 2013.

Mr Donohoe (41) was part of a three-car convoy that was escorting money from a credit union in Dundalk to a bank. The convoy was ambushed by an armed gang and Mr Donohoe was shot during the incident.

Appealing for information on the fifth anniversary of his death, Chief Superintendent Christopher Mangan said that "it was not too late to do the right thing".

Chief Supt Mangan went on to say that gardaí investigating Mr Donohoe's murder "would not stop" and would go "to the ends of the earth" to bring those responsible to justice.

Chief Supt Mangan appealed to anyone in the community with information, no matter how trivial or insignificant, to contact gardaí and that anyone who did come forward would be treated with the strictest of confidence.
