17-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With Fatal Stabbing In Waterford
A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Waterford.
A 25-year-old man was discovered with a serious injury at Shanakiel, Dunmore East at about 3.40am this morning, 26 July.
The man was treated at the scene by emergency services before being taken to University Hospital Waterford. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Anyone who might have witnessed the incident, or anyone with information, is asked to contact garda.
They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Shanakiel area of Dunmore East in the early hours of this morning to come forward and contact the incident room at Waterford Garda Station on 051-305300 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
The investigation is ongoing.

Journalist Ella Shanahan, has passed away in her County Waterford home. Ms Shanahan, 60, was the former London Editor of The Irish Times. She will also be remembered for her work in the RTÉ newsroom in the 1970s.

Gardai were called to Church Road in Lisduggan after 6pm where a man was discovered with stab wounds to his back and legs. The victim was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where his condition i =s described as serious but stable.
