Garda Appeal For Information On Street Robbery In Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have issued an appeal for information following a robbery on Mount Street Upper earlier this week.

On 13 August 2018 at approximately 6.50pm a man, aged in his 50s, got out of his car on Mount Street Upper and walked towards the junction of Mount Street and Fitzwilliam Street Lower junction. When he was a short distance from the junction he was approached by another male who grabbed a package that he was carrying. A struggle ensued and the man was threatened by the male. The male managed to wrangle the package from the man and ran off in the direction of Stephen's Lane and Verschoyle Place, Dublin 2. The package contained a large quantity of cash and some €700 worth of cigarettes.

The suspect is described as 5'9" or 5'10" in height, late 20's or early 30's, stocky build, dark brown hair and Dublin accent. He was wearing a grey sweat pants, grey sweatshirt (possibly has blue wording on the front of it), a baseball cap with blue on the front of it

The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Gardai in Pearse Street are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, who may have been in the area with dash cams around that time or may have any information to contact them in Pearse Street on 01 6669000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Woman And Child Hit By Car While Walking On Dublin Street
A woman has been killed after being hit by a car as she pushed a pram along a Dublin street. Gardaí have reported that the woman in her 30s was killed and a child injured when they were hit by a car on the main Dublin Road into Balbriggan. The child is being treated at Temple Street Children's Hospital.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Cannabis Seized At Dublin Port
Customs officers have seized cannabis worth an estimated street value of €20,000 at Dublin Port. The drugs were found on Tuesday hidden in a vehicle that had arrived from Holyhead. Revenue Customs Service say that the drugs were uncovered during "routine profiling" at the port. Gardaí have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the find.
