Microsoft Announces 200 New Jobs In Dublin

US technology Microsoft has announced the creation of 200 new jobs at its campus in Dublin.

Half of the new recruits will join the innovative engineering team at the Leopardstown site, with the remainder taking roles in sales, data centre operations and graduate and intern positions.

The new jobs will bring the total number of Microsoft employees in Ireland to 2,200.

Managing Director of Microsoft Ireland, Cathriona Hallahan believes the continued expansion in Dublin will have a great impact on the company globally.

A shed manufacturing company is to create 100 new jobs in Tuam, Co Galway. Steeltech Sheds is to relocate its business from Headford Road in Galway to the former Coca-Cola factory in Tuam and will recruit new staff between now and 2017. The company currently employs 100 staff at bases in Cork, Dublin, Carlow and Athlone.

Microsoft Centre For Dublin
Computer company Microsoft has announced plans to establish a new European data centre in Dublin. The company will invest 500 million euros in the 51,000 square metre centre, which will be situated in Grange Castle Business Park in Clondalkin. Around 20 new jobs are expected to be created once the centre opens in the summer of 2009.
