National Emergency Coordination Group To Meet Ahead Of Storm Callum

The National Emergency Coordination group are to meet today, 11 October, to discuss Storm Callum.

Winds of up to 130kmh are expected in Ireland which could pose a "risk to life and property", according to forecasters.

A Status Orange warning has been issued and people are being urged to stay away from exposed coastal areas. The warning comes into place at 10pm.

Thousands of homes and businesses have been left without power after Storm Callum hit Ireland overnight. A status Orange warning for wind has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo remains in place until 5pm, however warnings have been lifted for the rest of the country.
