Homes And Businesses Without Power As Storm Callum Hits Ireland

Thousands of homes and businesses have been left without power after Storm Callum hit Ireland overnight.

A status Orange warning for wind has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo remains in place until 5pm, however warnings have been lifted for the rest of the country.

Energy firm ESB Networks said: "We expect that the vast majority of the 10,000 customers without power at present will have their supply restored by tonight. ESB Networks apologises for any inconvenience caused."

More Than 2,500 ESB Customers Without Power
More than 2,500 ESB customers are without power following outages in the south east and south west. The company has said that some 1,700 customers in the Enniscorthy and Arklow areas have been affected, along with around 900 homes and businesses in the Killarney and Bandon regions.

ESB Worked Overnight To Restore Power To Homes And Businesses
ESB Networks are continuing to restore power to homes and businesses across Ireland following Storm Brendan. At its height on Monday, some 50,000 properties were without power as strong winds and heavy rain tracked across the country. ESB crews worked overnight to restore power as quickly as possible.
