Man Killed In Fatal Collision On North City Link Road

Gardai in Watercourse Road have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision this morning.

At approximately 10am this morning, Wednesday 17 October, a male pedestrian, aged in his 30s, was struck by a truck on the North City Link Road close to the Assumption Road Junction.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the North City Link Road at Blackpool.

Gardaí from Sundrive Road Garda Station arrested the man on Tuesday, 12 July, shortly after 9pm when they stopped and searched a car and its occupant close to Old County Road and discovered a firearm and ammunition.

Man Questioned Over Fatal Road Crash In Co Mayo
Garda have detained a man in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Mayo on Sunday, 08 May. A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed when his bike collided with a van on the N26 at Ballinahaglush at around 3.45pm. A man was arrested and is being detained at Ballina Garda Station.

A woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Limerick on Monday. Christy Keane was shot a number of times in the chest and arms. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Man Arrested Following Guns Discovery
A man has been arrested following the discovery of two guns in Dublin on Thursday evening. According to Gardaí, the man, aged 36, was searched by officers at Newlands Road, Lucan, at around 6.30pm. He was found to have two handguns and a small amount of cocaine. He was arrested and is currently being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.
