Two People And Gardaí Officer Injured In Roscommon Incident
Three people including a Gardaí officer were taken to hospital following an incident in the early hours of Sunday 09 December.
An investigation has been launched into the alleged assault of the officer in the Rose Lawn area of Castlerea in County Roscommon at approximately 1am.
He was allegedly assaulted by two males, aged in their late thirties and sixties, while on patrol and carrying out enquiries in the area.
The Gardaí was responding to a report of an intruder alarm at a nearby premises.
He was taken to Castlebar hospital for treatment to hand and facial injuries and has since been discharged.
Both of the suspected offenders were also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí said that no arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
An appeal for witnesses has been issued and anyone with information is urged to contact Castlerea station on 094 9621630.

Eight Arrested In Dundalk Murder Inquiry
Gardaí investigating the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year have arrested eight people. Six men and two women were arrested this morning. It is understood that four men, aged 19 and 26, are being questioned in relation to Mr Myers' murder, while two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.

Body Believed To Be Missing Dundalk Man
A body found in Dundalk is believed to that of Kenneth Fagan, who has been missing since Wednesday 6th August. Gardaí say that a search team found the body in the Lennon Melia area of Dundalk town on Tuesday evening. A postmortem will be carried out today at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
