Three Men Arrested In Connection With Mikolaj Wilk Murder
Gardaí investigating the murder of Mikolaj Wilk in Cork have arrested three men.
Mr Wilk (35), a Polish national, died after he was attacked by up to four men armed with machetes at his family home in Maglin, near Ballincollig in the early hours of 10 June 2018.
Mr Wilk died died from haemorrhage and shock due to multiple blows with a sharp weapon associated with a traumatic brain injury.
Mr Wilk's wife, Elzbieta, was also badly injured in the attacked and required extensive surgery for significant defensive wounds to her hands and arms.
Three men were arrested in Cork City during search operations in Ballincollig and Togher.
It is understood that these are the first arrests made in the investigation.

Three Arrested Over Cork Murder Released
Three men who were arrested as part of a Gardaí investigation into the murder of Mikolaj Wilk in Cork have been released. The trio were detained on the morning of Tuesday 22 January in Ballincollig following a number of searches in the area, but have since been released without charge.

Three men arrested in connection with an attempted robbery of a Dublin post office have been released without charge. It is understood three masked suspects armed with knives, a crowbar and other implements entered the building on Leonard's Corner at around 12:30pm yesterday, 03 December.
