Cannabis Haul Worth Almost €1m Discovered In Louth

Gardaí have arrested a woman in her 30's after a cannabis haul worth almost €1m was seized by officers in County Louth.

A planned search took place in Drogheda on Wednesday 23 January which led to the arrest on suspicion of drug trafficking offences.

She was detained at Drogheda Garda Station.

Gardaí from the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, assisted by officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau and officers from the Louth Division, carried out the search.

They have confirmed that investigations into drug activity in the area are ongoing.

Gardaí Injured During Drugs Raid
A man has been arrested after three gardaí were injured during a drug search in County Louth on Friday. The incident occurred at a property in Termonfeckin after 9am. The officers are believed to have been attacked with a knife and a pitbull dog was set on them. A man in his 30s is being held at Drogheda Garda Station.

Revenue Customs officers and Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a search of a premises in Cobh as part of an intelligence led operation. During the operation, cocaine worth an estimated value of €56,000 was seized.

Officers Seize €20,000 At Knock Airport
Revenue officers seized €20,000 in cash from a couple who landed in Knock airport having returned from Lanzarote. The can was concealed in items of clothing and carry-on luggage. The cash was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act and investigations are continuing.

Car Drives Into Crowd At Dundalk Cemetery
A man is in hospital after he was struck by a car that drove towards a crowd in a County Louth graveyard. Gardaí arrested a 20-year-old man at the scene in St Patrick's Cemetery in Dundalk following the incident during the annual blessing of the graves on Sunday 21 July.

Counterfeit clothing worth an estimated €500,000 has been seized by gardaí in County Louth. The seizure was made when officers raided a house on Bridge Street, Ardee, acting on a warrant under Section 25 of the Trades Mark Act, 1996.
