Status Yellow Weather Warning For Snow And Ice Nation-Wide
Met Éireann has updated its Status Yellow weather warning, amid reports of significant snowfall in Cork and Kerry.
The national forecaster has reviewed its snow-ice warning for the country: "Very cold this week with showers of hail, sleet and snow, frequent across the southwest, west and north, where some significant accumulations are possible this evening and overnight. There will be widespread frost with icy stretches on untreated surfaces.
"There is the potential for further significant snowfall in places on Thursday."
The weather warning is in place from 6am this morning and will remain in place until at least midday on Saturday 02 February, 2019.
Gardaí have also issued a warning for motorists to "drive with care" as snow has begun to accumulate on roads in Cork and Kerry.
Warning signs have been put in place on approach roads to the Sally Gap in the Wicklow Mountains.

Met Eireann has issued a status orange wind warning for the south and southwest of Ireland, taking in counties Wexford, Galway, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford. This is in addition to a status orange warning for snow and ice in Co Donegal.
