Treacherous Driving Conditions As Ice Continues
Drivers are being urged to beware of difficult road conditions after further frost and ice overnight.
Met Éireann has extended its Status Yellow weather warning for snow and ice until Sunday 03 February, warning that it will remain very cold until the end of the weekend with severe frost and ice expected on untreated surfaces.
Temperatures are likely to plummet to between -2C and -6C degrees leading to further dangerous conditions.
Motorists are urged to take particular care on roads in the midlands, north-west and in Wicklow this morning.

Although a motorist was killed last night in Donegal, so far, there are no reports of injury in a series of crashes in the county this morning due to ice on the roads. Parts of Co Donegal have come to a virtual standstill as severe frost and ice has left roads in many parts of the county in extremely dangerous condition.

Young Man Killed On Malihide Road
A man in his twenties has died after a serious road accident in Co Dublin The 26-year-old male, who was sole occupant of the car, was seriously injured and brought to Beaumont Hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead at 2.00am in the early hours of this morning.
