Ireland Remain Hopeful Of Six Nations Title After Win Over France
Ireland have reignited their hopes of Six Nations success after securing a 26-14 bonus point victory over France in Dublin yesterday.
Joe Schmidt's side found the form that had deserted them in the opening rounds to stay in the running, ahead of their clash with Wales this coming Saturday, 16 March.
Captain Rory Best kicked things off with an early try while Johnny Sexton, Jack Conan and Keith Earls also crossed.
Yoann Huget and Camille Chat scored late consolation tries for France, a performance that will hurt Ireland's points differential as they head into the final week.
Jacques Brunel's side travelled to Dublin with renewed confidence from their win against Scotland last month, but they failed to match Ireland's combination of power and accuracy.
The only disappointment for the reigning champions in their final Six Nations home match was that they could not convert their dominance into more scores, keeping them behind Wales and England in the race for the championship title.
