Parcels Containing €142k Cannabis Intercepted At Portlaoise Mail Centre

Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mail centre have seized herbal cannabis with a street value of around €142,000 as a result of routine profiling.

The 7.1kg of illegal drugs were concealed in two parcels, sent from the USA and Canada, destined for two separate addresses in Dublin City Centre.

One parcel was labelled 'Toys', while the other said 'Wine Glasses' when discovered at the sorting centre on Wednesday 13 March.

Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.

The seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting drug importations.

Revenue officers have seized 5kg of herbal cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 at the Dublin Mail Centre. The drugs were found today, Thursday 18 April, with the assistance of Revenue detector dog Bailey. They were concealed in seven different parcels labelled as 'diaries', 'kitchen tools', 'USB fan', 'toys' and 'car air fresheners'.

Police Seize Cannabis Worth €44k In Cork
Revenue officers in Cork have seized 2.2kgs of herbal cannabis worth around €44,000. The drugs, found on Wednesday 01 May, were discovered in a package that arrived from Italy. It was destined for an address in west Cork. Investigations are ongoing. The seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting drug importations.

Drugs Seized At Portlaoise Mails Centre
Drugs worth €27,000 have been seized by Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mails Centre. Following routine profiling, 54kgs of khat was seized by officers from a number of parcels originating from Ethiopia and Kenya. The parcels, some of which were declared as 'clothing', were destined for various addresses in Dublin City.

Over 29,000 Cigarettes And Car Seized By Revenue Officers
Revenue officers have seized more than 29,000 illegal cigarettes during a series of searches in Finglas and Dublin city centre. Officers made the seizure during the search of an apartment in Finglas and retail premises in Dublin on Tuesday.
