€100k Cannabis Seized At Dublin Mail Centre

Revenue officers have seized 5kg of herbal cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 at the Dublin Mail Centre.

The drugs were found today, Thursday 18 April, with the assistance of Revenue detector dog Bailey. They were concealed in seven different parcels labelled as 'diaries', 'kitchen tools', 'USB fan', 'toys' and 'car air fresheners'.

The cannabis originated in Canada and the USA and was destined for addresses in Dublin and Waterford. Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.

The seizure's are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting drug importations. Any businesses or members of the public with information regarding drug smuggling are urged to contact Revenue in confidence on 1800 295 295.

Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mail centre have seized herbal cannabis with a street value of around €142,000 as a result of routine profiling. The 7.1kg of illegal drugs were concealed in two parcels, sent from the USA and Canada, destined for two separate addresses in Dublin City Centre.

Police Seize Cannabis Worth €44k In Cork
Revenue officers in Cork have seized 2.2kgs of herbal cannabis worth around €44,000. The drugs, found on Wednesday 01 May, were discovered in a package that arrived from Italy. It was destined for an address in west Cork. Investigations are ongoing. The seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting drug importations.

Revenue officers have seized approximately 10.4 million cigarettes at Dublin Port as a result of an intelligence led operation. The smuggled cigarettes had arrived into Dublin Port aboard a vessel from Rotterdam.

Over 234,000 Cigarettes Seized At Dublin Airport
Revenue officers using routine profiling have seized over 234,000 cigarettes at Dublin Airport. The cigarettes branded 'Benson & Hedges' were found concealed in 17 boxes described as 'metal transistors'. They had arrived via Amsterdam on a flight from China.
