Recovery Operation For Irish Climber Who Fell From Mt Everest

A major search operation will be launched tomorrow, 23 May, on Mount Everest for missing Irish climber, Séamus Lawless.

Mr Lawless, an assistant professor at Trinity from Bray, reportedly slipped and fell from the mountain while descending from the summit almost a week ago. He had climbed the mountain as part of an expedition of eight, led by Irish mountaineer, Noel Hanna.

It is understood that extreme weather had meant that search operations where unable to be mounted earlier. Expedition leader, Noel Hanna, and a team of specialist climbers have returned to Everest base camp and will conduct a search and recovery operation above Camp Four on Mt Everest.
