FAI Emails Affected In External Hack
The Football Association of Ireland's Abbotstown headquarters were the target of an external hack last weekend, affecting the organisation's email services.
Reassurance has been issued to customers that no breach of payment details took place during the hack. This data is instead stored off site.
An Garda Siochana and the Data Protection Commission have been informed of the breach.
Forensic computer scientists are on site and work is continuing to restore a full service for staff.

The bank has said it will not be publishing a report into the data breach, which it received today. The report is the conclusion of a four-month investigation, undertaken by the Data Protection Commissioner.

One of Ireland's leading banks is investigating a potential data breach, after documents, containing customers' personal details, were found at a former Cork landfill. Allied Irish Bank officials are said to be examining the find, which is believed to include loan applications and customer statements.

Next summer Dublin will under siege from hackers and innovators through a major interactive exhibition and festival organized by Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin, called Hack The City. It is hoped the even will engage and inspire over 40,000 visitors with exciting innovations that will transform our cities from the ground up.

Irish Water Admit Possible Data Protection Breach
Information packs sent out by Irish Water to more than 6,000 customers may have breached data protection. It is understood that customers reached the information despite them being address to the wrong people. Irish Water say the problem involves packs sent out to owners of multiple properties.
