Investigation After Two House Fires In Co Longford

Gardaí have launched an investigation into two incidents of criminal damage by fire in County Longford.

Both fires took place in the Edgeworthstown area between last night and the early hours of this morning.

A vacant house was extensively damaged in Coolarty between 9pm and 10pm on Thursday 06 June before fire crews from Granard managed to bring it under control.

Hours later, a second house fire took place in the Corboy road area. This property was also unoccupied at the time and the blaze caused extensive damage.

Gardai are seeking assistance from anyone who witnessed suspicious vehicles, people, or activity in the areas of Ballinalee, Granard, Edgeworthstown or on the Main N4 at Corboy to contact any station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
