Girl, 7, Dies In Tragic Accident In Co Louth

A seven-year-old girl has lost her life after a tragic accident involving a car in Drogheda, County Louth, on Sunday afternoon.

Named locally as Chantelle Keenan, she died following the incident in the driveway of a house at around 2.30pm.

Emergency services attended the scene and the girl was taken to the nearby Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, where she later passed away.

Gardaí have appealed for information on a fatal road traffic accident near Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Saturday morning. An Irish toddler has drowned after falling into the pool in a garden of a house in El Campello, a small resort a few miles north of Alicante, Spain. Officers from the Civil Guard have said they are investigating the death of the 18-month-old girl, which they described as a "tragic accident".

Shock As Girl Chokes On Balloon
A Co Tyrone freak accident with a balloon has ended a kids' party in tragedy. It happened in Spamount, Castlederg, and saw Clarice Harron, a 10-year-old girl, choking on a balloon at a friend's birthday party last Saturday. The girl was blowing up a balloon when it got sucked into her throat, in a tragic, freak accident.

Child Fatally Injured In Farming Accident In Co Mayo
A four-year-old boy has died in a farming accident in Ballinaboy, Co Mayo. According to reports the child was fatally injured when he was hit by a trailer on the farm at about 21:00 on Wednesday. Gardaí said the incident is being treated as a tragic accident.

Missing Man Body Recovered From Lake
The body of missing Crossmaglen man Padraig Campbell has been found. The 37-year-old’s body was recovered from a lake in Co Monaghon last night. Campbell, of Drumbroy Road, Castleblaney, has been missing from the 18 March. Gardai have described his death as a tragic accident, however a post-mortem will be carried out.
