Appeal After Man Shot In Dublin

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in the Lucan area of Dublin yesterday, Wednesday 04 September.

The shooting happened at Griffeen Glen Park at around 1.50pm and saw the target shot in his body, head and arms while in his car. He is in stable condition in hospital.

The suspects fled the scene in a White VW Caddy Van which was later found burnt out at Elm Way. It is believed they then transferred to an Opel Vectra, which was found in Liffey Valley Park in Lucan after being set on fire.

It is understood a third vehicle was then used, a Toyota Avensis, which was discovered on fire at Blind Lane, Fassaroe, Bray.

Arrested Over Kilrush Body Find
A man has been detained in connection with the discovery of a body in Co Clare. The body of the 27-year-old was found outside a house in Kilrush this morning. The victim was found shot dead in the garden of a house on O'Gorman Street at around 10.30am.

Off-Duty Garda Attacked With Samurai Sword
A court has heard how an off-duty garda was attacked with a samurai sword as he chased two men who had just robbed a shop. Detective Garda Shane Kelly saw the raiders flee from the scene and chased them in his personal car. When he cornered their vehicle near Lucan one of the raiders used the sword to smash the detective’s windscreen.

Two Women Arrested In Connection With Cow's Lane Death
Two women have been arrested in connection with the death of a man on Cow's Lane, Dublin on Thursday, 10 September. A man in his 20s died following a violent disorder incident last week. The two women, both aged in their early 20s, are the latest to be arrested as part of the investigation.

Man Arrested After Heroin Seized During Vehicle Search
A man has been arrested after heroin was discovered during a vehicle search in Co Dublin. It is understood the drugs, worth an estimated value of €420,000, were seized by Garda at 4.30 during a search in Clondalkin yesterday, 10 December. The 35-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to Lucan Garda station. Enquiries are continuing.

Man Arrested Following Guns Discovery
A man has been arrested following the discovery of two guns in Dublin on Thursday evening. According to Gardaí, the man, aged 36, was searched by officers at Newlands Road, Lucan, at around 6.30pm. He was found to have two handguns and a small amount of cocaine. He was arrested and is currently being held at Ronanstown Garda Station.
