Appeal After Man Shot In Dublin
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in the Lucan area of Dublin yesterday, Wednesday 04 September.
The shooting happened at Griffeen Glen Park at around 1.50pm and saw the target shot in his body, head and arms while in his car. He is in stable condition in hospital.
The suspects fled the scene in a White VW Caddy Van which was later found burnt out at Elm Way. It is believed they then transferred to an Opel Vectra, which was found in Liffey Valley Park in Lucan after being set on fire.
It is understood a third vehicle was then used, a Toyota Avensis, which was discovered on fire at Blind Lane, Fassaroe, Bray.
No arrests have been made as yet. Anyone with information or relevant dash cam footage can contact the incident room at Lucan Garda station on 01 666 7300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Arrested Over Kilrush Body Find
A man has been detained in connection with the discovery of a body in Co Clare. The body of the 27-year-old was found outside a house in Kilrush this morning. The victim was found shot dead in the garden of a house on O'Gorman Street at around 10.30am.

Off-Duty Garda Attacked With Samurai Sword
A court has heard how an off-duty garda was attacked with a samurai sword as he chased two men who had just robbed a shop. Detective Garda Shane Kelly saw the raiders flee from the scene and chased them in his personal car. When he cornered their vehicle near Lucan one of the raiders used the sword to smash the detective’s windscreen.

Gardaí have launched a public appeal to held find a man missing from Lucan. Thomas Moffett, 53, has been missing from his home at Esker Lane since the weekend of 29/30 March. He is described as 5' 10", of slim build with short grey hair. He also wears glasses. He was seen by a neighbour in the Lucan area over the weekend.

Warning Issued Over Debit Card Scammer
Gardaí in Cork, Tipperary and Limerick are urging members of the public to be vigilant following a number of scams in the area. In one of the known incidents, a man, claiming to be from the company Phone Watch, has taken debit cards off people and then withdrew cash from their accounts.
