Pedestrian Dies After Co Kerry Collision

A man in his 50s has died after he was hit by a car in County Kerry.

The collision occurred at Aughacasla in Castlegregory at around 2.30am on Sunday morning, 15 September.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, escaped uninjured while a woman passenger, also in her 20s, was taken to Kerry University Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for some time while forensic examiners observed the scene.

Anyone who was travelling on the road at the time of the collision and may have dash-cam footage is urged to contact Gardaí in Tralee on 066-702-300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any Garda station.

Man Injured In Kerry Stabbing
A man has been injured in a stabbing in Co Kerry. It is understood that the 35-year-old was stabbed during an incident in An Daingean. He was taken to Kerry General Hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be serious. Gardaí are investigating the incident.

Climber Rescued From Kerry Mountain
A man has been rescued from a ledge on the Connor Pass, north of Dingle in County Kerry. The climber got trapped on the ledge near Pedlars Lake at around 6.00pm on Wednesday evening and a rescue operation was immediately launched. The Dingle Cliff and Coastguard Rescue Team made contact with the man shortly before 9.30pm.
