Man Arrested Carrying Drugs Worth Over €350,000 In Cork City

A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested in connection with a major drug seizure in Cork city.

Suspected heroin worth an estimated €350,000 and suspected cocaine, worth an estimated €2,000, was discovered when Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in Cork city arrested a man in his 30s on St. Patrick's Street shortly before 9pm last night, Tuesday 04 November.

The man is currently detained at Bridewell Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Speaking at Anglesea Street Garda Station, Superintendent Michael Comyns said: "This is a significant seizure by our Drugs Unit here in Cork city. Drugs have such a negative impact on so many lives and have no place in our communities."

Cash Seized During Drug Raid
A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of €85,000 in cash at a flat in Cork city. It is understood members of the Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad uncovered the cash during a drug raid on a flat in Tuckey Street at about 21:30 on Tuesday night. A 37-year-old Hungarian national was arrested at the scene.
