£85k Drugs Removed From Streets Of Limerick

Gardaí in Limerick city removed over €85,000 worth of drugs from the streets in two separate incidents on Wednesday 06 November.

The first incident in Careys Road Park saw around €38,500 worth of suspected heroin discovered during a search of a public area. Gardaí from the Roxboro Road District carried out the search shortly before 11am.

Separately, at around 10pm, the Henry Street District searched a public area on St Senan Street following reports of suspicious activity. Some €33,000 worth of suspected heroin and €14,000 of suspected crack cocaine were seized and will now be sent for analysis.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Speaking at Roxboro Road Garda Station, Superintendent Dermot O Connor said: "Over €85,000 worth of suspected heroin and crack cocaine was taken off the streets yesterday in the Henry Street and Roxboro Road Districts. I would like to thank the community who continue to work with us and urge more people to report anything they feel is out of the ordinary, not just for drug use or drug dealing."

One Arrested In Limerick Drugs Seizure
A woman has reportedly been arrested following the seizure of drugs worth more than €100,000 in Limerick. The woman, who is understood to be in her 20s, was arrested following the seizure of heroin and cocaine in the south side of the city on Wednesday afternoon. She is being held at Roxboro Road Garda Station.

Five Arrested Over €500,000 Drug Seizure
Gardaí in Dublin have seized drugs worth an estimated €500,000 following the arrest of four men on the Crumlin Road on Tuesday. Approximately 50,000 suspected ecstasy tablets, equipment and chemicals used for the manufacture of tablets, were discovered during follow up searches at a number of premises in Tallaght and Clondalkin.

Dublin Prepares For Cold Snap
Dublin City Council has revealed a plan to make the city winter-ready. Last year snow and ice caused problems on the city's roads and footpaths. Over 2,350 tonnes of salt has been stockpiled and 1,155 more tonnes is being sought from the National Roads Authority to keep streets free of snow and ice.

Gardaí Seized Drugs Worth Estimated €5m
Gardaí in Dublin have seized drugs worth an estimated €5m. The Clondalkin Detective and Drugs Units uncovered heroin and cocaine during a search of premises at the Bluebell Industrial Estate on Tuesday. Gardaí said they seized 32.5kg of suspected heroin and half a kilogram of suspected cocaine. The drugs are still to be forensically tested.

Cannabis Haul Worth Almost €1m Discovered In Louth
Gardaí have arrested a woman in her 30's after a cannabis haul worth almost €1m was seized by officers in County Louth. A planned search took place in Drogheda on Wednesday 23 January which led to the arrest on suspicion of drug trafficking offences. She was detained at Drogheda Garda Station.
