Two Arrests As €178k Cash & €50k Drugs Seized In Galway
Gardaí have made two arrests in connection with the seizure of €178,500 in cash and cocaine worth €50,000 in Galway.
A number of drug manufacturing components were also discovered during the intelligence led operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the area on Sunday evening, 19 January.
A sum of cash worth €17,580 was seized during a vehicle stop and search on the M6 motorway in the vicinity of Loughrea.
Follow up searches at an address in Galway city then uncovered cocaine worth €50,000 and a suspected cocaine processing laboratory. Gardaí also seized a quantity of mixing agent, a cocaine press, vacuum packer, industrial gas masks, and a cash counting machine at this address, which are believed to have been used in the manufacture of cocaine for sale or supply.
Further follow up searches at two separate premises in the city saw Gardaí remove €161,000 in cash.
One man in his 20s was arrested following the detection on the M6, while a second man in his 30s was detained at a property in Galway City.
Both men are currently held at Galway Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996.
These seizures were part of an intelligence led operation and were detected by the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit with the assistance of the Western Regional Armed Support Unit.

Drugs Seized And 15 Arrests Made In 'Operation Reuben'
Gardaí have arrested a total of 15 people in Co Cork as part of a major anti-drug operation. Dubbed "Operation Reuben", Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit moved in and arrested 15 people within 48 hours following "a lengthy drugs operation". Of those arrested, 11, of which two are female, have been charged.

Drugs Seized In Galway City
Quantities of cocaine, ecstasy tablets, MDMA powder and herbal cannabis worth an estimated €35,000 have been seized in Galway City. The drugs were seized in a joint operation with the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, at a house last Thursday.

Investigation Launched Into Galway Body Find
Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man's body in an apartment in Galway City. It is understood that the man's body was found by his flatmate on Monday. According to reports, the dead man is believed to be a 23-year-old from Tullamore in Co Offaly who was studying in Galway City.

Three Arrested Following Drugs Find In Dublin
Three people have been arrested after cocaine worth €270,000 was seized from a house in Dublin. Gardai raided a property on St. Mark's Avenue in Clondalkin at around 9pm on Tuesday night. A woman, 25, and two men, aged 26 and 53, were arrested at the scene. They are being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station and Lucan Garda Station.
