Three Arrested In Major Money Laundering Investigation
Three people have been arrested and a substantial amount of cash seized as part of an ongoing intelligence led investigation targeting serious and organised crime.
On Tuesday, 11 February 2020, officers attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) supported by a Special Crime Task Force, intercepted two vehicles on the Naas Road, Dublin 12.
Cash was recovered and one male, aged 41, and two females aged 38 and 29 were arrested on suspicion of their involvement in an offence of Money Laundering, contrary to the provisions of Section 7 of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing) Act 2010.
The three arrested persons were taken to Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Ronanstown Garda stations where they remain detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigating officers have undertaken a number of related searches, in the Dublin area and a further quantity of cash was recovered. The total value of cash seized in this operation is estimated to be in excess of €100,000 (subject to counting following forensic examination).

Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.

Customs Seize 120,000 Illegal Cigarettes
Cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €57,000 have been seized by customs officers at Cork Airport. Some 120,000 Marlboro cigarettes were discovered in 12 suitcases that had arrived on a flight from Wroclaw, Poland. Garda arrested two men, understood to be Polish nationals, in connection with the find.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.
