Illegal Drugs Seized At Dublin Mail Centre

Revenue officers have seized herbal cannabis and ecstasy tablets worth an estimated €48,850 at Dublin Mail Centre

The illegal drugs were discovered in 14 separate parcels originating from the United States and the Netherlands and were declared as items such as 'fabric', 'gloves', 'bathrobe' and 'denim hooded jacket'. All parcels were destined for delivery in Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.

€100k Cannabis Seized At Dublin Mail Centre
Revenue officers have seized 5kg of herbal cannabis worth an estimated €100,000 at the Dublin Mail Centre. The drugs were found today, Thursday 18 April, with the assistance of Revenue detector dog Bailey. They were concealed in seven different parcels labelled as 'diaries', 'kitchen tools', 'USB fan', 'toys' and 'car air fresheners'.

Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mail centre have seized herbal cannabis with a street value of around €142,000 as a result of routine profiling. The 7.1kg of illegal drugs were concealed in two parcels, sent from the USA and Canada, destined for two separate addresses in Dublin City Centre.

Alcohol Worth €165,000 Seized At Dublin Port
Revenue officers at Dublin Port have seized over 25,700 litres of beer with a retail value of over €165,000. Officers discovered the smuggled alcohol when they stopped and searched a foreign-registered truck that had disembarked a ferry from Holyhead.

584,000 Cigarettes Seized At Dublin Port
An intelligence-led revenue operation at Dublin Port has saw 584,000 illegal cigarettes taken out of circulation. Officers discovered the unstamped cigarettes with the assistance of an X-ray scanner on Friday 02 August. They were located in a shipment from Rotterdam that originated in China.

19,000 Cigarettes Seized At Dublin Airport
Revenue officers at Dublin Airport have seized 19,000 'Marlboro' brand cigarettes inside the luggage of a man arriving on a flight from Chisnau, via Istanbul. The contraband cigarettes were uncovered by detector dog "Lottie", and represented a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €7,000.
