Modified Cars Seized In Overnight Garda Operation
Gardaí have seized a car after it was discovered that its battery had been "relocated" to its boot and held in place with cable ties.
The seizure was made by officers from Operation CURB (Changing Your Road Behaviour) in an overnight operation on March 06 and 07.
The operation targeted cars modified in such a way as to "pose a danger to road users".
The seized vehicle had had its engine replaced and the car's battery could no longer be stored in the engine compartment. The battery was subsequently put in the boot and secured with cable ties.
It is understood that the driver of the car was also uninsured because of the modification.
