Funding Secured For City Of Derry Airport
Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has announced that £3 million has been allocated to ensure the continued operation of City of Derry Airport throughout the current financial year.
The funding will provide crucial support for the airport's day-to-day activities while the Department for the Economy finalises its plans for the future funding of the facility.
This announcement comes as a relief to the airport and its stakeholders, ensuring its continued operation and contribution to the local economy. Minister O'Dowd said: "City of Derry Airport is a critical infrastructure asset in the North West region. It provides connectivity and is fundamental to business and tourism in the area. The confirmation of funding for this financial year will allow the airport to continue to operate while the Department for the Economy makes longer term plans for the future sustainability of the airport. I am committed to regional balance and ensuring that infrastructure creates the foundations for better communities."
