Lottery Winners Collect 16 Million Euro Cheque

The winners of the Republic of Ireland's largest ever lottery jackpot have collected their cheque for 16 million euros from the Lottery's headquarters.

Paul and Helen Cunningham, from the Fairhill area of Cork City arrived at the Lottery's headquarters in Abbey Street in Dublin around lunchtime on Wednesday to collect their winnings.

The couple were joined by their children and other relatives to collect their cheque.

The family declined to comment to the media, although they posed for photographs with the cheque.

A statement read out by the family's solicitor David McCoy described the lottery win as a "dream come true", but said that the couple were determined to keep their feet on the ground.
