Climber Rescued From Kerry Mountain

A man has been rescued from a ledge on the Connor Pass, north of Dingle in County Kerry.

The climber got trapped on the ledge near Pedlars Lake at around 6.00pm on Wednesday evening and a rescue operation was immediately launched.

The Dingle Cliff and Coastguard Rescue Team made contact with the man shortly before 9.30pm. The man was found to be uninjured and was brought to safety.

The rescue operation was the second in County Kerry this week following another incident on Carrantuohill on Tuesday.

An 82-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy had to be rescued by the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team after they went missing during a climb at Carrantuohill in the McGillycuddy Reeks.

The pair were located at around 2.00am on Wednesday morning are said to be in good health.

Man Injured In Kerry Stabbing
A man has been injured in a stabbing in Co Kerry. It is understood that the 35-year-old was stabbed during an incident in An Daingean. He was taken to Kerry General Hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be serious. Gardaí are investigating the incident.

Pair Rescued From Submerged Camper-Van In County Kerry
Two people have been rescued from the roof of their submerged camper-van in County Kerry. The incident at Carrig Island saw a camper-van caught out by the tide shortly after 5am on Wednesday 31 July. Both of the occupants made their way to the roof of the van as the tide continued to rise around them. A Kilrush RNLI lifeboat arrived on scene at 5.

Man Rescued From Cliff Face At Kerry Head
Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue Service, assisted by the coast guard from Ballybunion and Glenderry and Feint RNLI, have rescued a man from Kerry Head. It is understood the man was out with a team of surveyors when he lost his footing a fell onto a ledge. The man was airlifted from the ledge and taken to Kerry General Hospital.
