Diversions In Place Following Fatal Limerick Crash

A woman has died in a car crash involving a bicyclist approximately 2kms outside Bruff on the Kilmallock road in County Limerick.

The deceased, who was aged in her 40s, was a cyclist. She was involved in a collision with a car. Her body has been removed from the scene to Limerick Regional Hospital.

The road is closed in order to allow a full investigation into the circumstances of the collision to be conducted.

The crash happened just before 7.00am this morning and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact Bruff Garda Station on 061 382940.

Two Killed In Co. Limerick Road Crash
Two people have died following a road crash in Co. Limerick on Thursday. The driver and passenger in the car, a 60 year-old man and a 59 year-old woman, were both killed in the incident, which happened between Limerick and Mitchelstown. Their car collided with a truck in Ballylanders on the road at around 12.20pm on Thursday afternoon.

Man Dies In Limerick Collision
A man has died in a crash in Co Limerick. The car veered off the road and hit a ditch at Dromsallagh at around 4.15am on Sunday, 05 June. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man is currently being treated for his injuries at the University Hospital Limerick. The road has been re-opened.

Schoolboy Dies In Limerick Crash
A boy has been killed in a road collision in Limerick. The 12-year-old is understood to have been struck by a vehicle in the Moyross area of the city around 10am on Thursday morning. The area has been sealed off and forensic experts are examining the scene. Gardaí have launched an investigation.

Limerick Tunnel Opens
Taoiseach Brian Cowen will open the long awaited Limerick Tunnel today at 1pm. The route now cuts under the River Shannon and links Coonagh on the northern bank with Bunlicky on the southern bank. There are two toll plazas located on the north side of the river and it will cost €1.
