Man In Court Over Cork Murder
A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Brian McKee in Cork at the weekend.
Mr McKee, a father-of-two from Ballinure Avenue in Mahon, was found unconscious at St Michael's Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He had suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest. He was taken to hospital but later died.
Jason Quinlan, with an address at Loughmahon Drive in Mahon, appeared before Cork District Court on Monday morning charged with assault causing harm.
He was remanded in custody to appear before the same court again on September 3.
An application was granted for free legal aid.
A 24-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident is still in custody.

Two Arrests Over Murder of John Kenny
It has emerged that two men have been arrested in connection with an investigation into the murder of John Kenny. The arrests were made on Thursday February 2, in Cork City with the assistance of local Gardaí and the Regional Support Unit. Both men were taken to Millstreet Garda Station where they were charged in relation to the murder.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Man Charged With Theft And Fraud Offences In Cork
A 45-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with a number of theft and fraud offences in Cork City. An investigation began in 2014 after Gardaí received a complaint against the suspect. The man was originally arrested on 10 December 2015 regarding offences under the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.
