Woman Dies In Galway Collision
A woman has died following a road traffic collision in County Galway at around 9.40am this morning.
The woman, in her 50s, was struck by a car at a junction in Claregalway and the N17 has been closed to traffic from Calregalway to Corinthians Rugby Club and traffic diversions are in place.
A Garda spokesperson has said that the diversions will continue for the next few hours while technical and forensic examinations of the scene are carried out.

Bridge Fails To Navigate Troubled Water
Bad weather has held back plans to bring the Samuel Beckett Bridge on the latest stage of its journey. The advanced Bridge, which will span the Liffey will now be delayed after an abandoned attempt to ferry the Bridge to its mount at 2am this morning because of high winds. A fresh attempt will be made at high tide tomorrow morning.

Samuel Beckett Bridge Arrives In Dublin
The River Liffey's new bridge is to arrive in Dublin Port after its week-long journey from the Netherlands. The new bridge, which is due to be operational next year will link from Guild Street on the north quays to Sir John Rogerson's Quay on the south.

Talks Aim To Resolve Air Traffic Control Dispute
Fresh talks to resolve a dispute between air traffic controllers and the Irish Aviation Authority are due to recommence today. The two sides, which met for talks at the Labour Relations Commission last week, will be holding face-to-face discussions over the coming days in an effort to resolve the dispute by Friday.

Finglas Gardaí Station Evacuated In Security Alert
Finglas Gardaí Station was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, 24 October, in an emergency security operation. The alert began at 3pm when a member of the public arrived at Finglas Garda Station with a suspicious device recovered near his home. As a precaution Gardaí evacuated the building and put a cordon around the station.

Ennis Blaze Alert
Fire brigade units from four stations in Co Clare are dealing with a major blaze in Ennis town this morning. The fire was reported at 6am at a commercial premises on Station Road in the town. It is not thought that there is anybody in the building.
