Schoolboy Dies In Limerick Crash

A boy has been killed in a road collision in Limerick.

The 12-year-old is understood to have been struck by a vehicle in the Moyross area of the city around 10am on Thursday morning.

The area has been sealed off and forensic experts are examining the scene. Gardaí have launched an investigation.

Gardaí Investigate Limerick Shooting
An investigation has been launched after a house in Limerick city was shot at. A single shot was fired through a downstairs window of a house in Sarsfield Gardens in the Moyross area of the city, around 1am on Tuesday morning. It is not known if anyone was in the house at the time. The area has been sealed off for technical examination.

Appeal For Witnesses To Early Morning Shooting In Dublin
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a shooting in Dublin this morning. According to garda a man was shot just after 9am on Thursday morning on Clonard Street. The victim has been taken to hospital but no details of his condition have been released. The scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a technical examination.

Investigation Launched After Teen Shot In Limerick
Gardaí have launched an investigation after a teenager was shot in Limerick on Thursday morning. The 17-year-old was shot in the thigh on the Upper Carey's Road at around 10.40am, according to gardaí. He was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made.

Searches Launched Across Limerick City
Up to 20 searches are being carried out across Limerick City this morning, 26 April, as part of an operation targeting criminal activity. Gardaí launched the operation in the early hours of Tuesday morning and the operation is ongoing. One man, aged in his 20s, has been arrested under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Coroner Calls For Official Record Of Suicide Verdicts
Inquest verdicts of suicide should be officially recorded to help gather real statistics, the coroner for west Limerick has said. Currently, a coroner can only recommend a verdict of death in accordance with the medial evidence as given by a pathologist, west Limerick coroner and Senior Counsel Brendan Nix added.
